Here’s a list of four of my favorite local service-based businesses offering something unique in the Tucson community.

Personal Training by Alison Smith

Owner: Alison Smith, CPT

Who is Alison Smith and what does she do?

Alison runs a full time personal training business out of her beautiful home in Tucson, AZ. Additionally, she shares workout routines on her very popular instagram page. So if you need some fresh workout ideas or inspiration you can connect with her there, too.

What do I love about her approach to training?

I love her non-extreme approach. πŸ™‚ She meets you where you are and can help reduce pain and immobility related to injury through her custom workouts. She’s also a great motivator and accountability buddy so if you have some goals you can’t seem to meet on your own, she will help you meet them and then some! Plus she’s funny and loves all things fitness which has been so helpful for me when I’ve lacked the motivation to get it done on my own.

How has Alison helped me on my healing journey?

I’ve dealt with chronic low back and hip pain since 2016 and since working with Alison over the past two years, my body and spirit have strengthened immensely.

Rachel Nelson Fine Art

Owner: Rachel Nelson, MS, ATR

What does Rachel do and who is she?

Rachel is an artist, art therapist, and art teacher. She makes fine art and offers a variety of classes to the Tucson community ranging from therapeutic art to skills based encaustic classes.

What do I love about Rachel and her business?

I love her artwork!! I even have a few pieces hanging in my office. πŸ˜‰ I love that she shares the joy of art making with the Tucson community, and you can learn how to make an encaustic painting in her class in less than 2 hours.

Why should you check out her classes, groups, and/or go to one of her open art studios?

Rachel’s passion for art is infectious and it’s fun to be around her energy. Plus, it’s fun to learn something new and challenging. She’s a registered art therapist and can support you therapeutically through the art-making process. Additionally, her open studios are always a good time and you get to see her latest creations up on the walls of her studio. Go check her out!

What do I love about Alex and her business?

I love Alex’s unique vision and her glass art! You’ve probably seen some of her art work around my office, too. Like my business card holder and the glass cacti in the corner. These are just a few reasons why I love Alex and her business. Now, go check her out!

Rhonda’s an intuitive and a Network Chiropractor who also does manual adjustments, Reiki, and so much more. If you haven’t heard of this type of chiropractic care, you can learn more on her website here: www.transcendentchiropractic.com/chiropractic-services.

How has Network Chiropractic helped me on my healing journey?

As I shared above, over the past several years I’ve navigated low back and hip pain. Rhonda’s adjustments help keep me balanced and moving forward. As I mentioned, she’s an intuitive and can help you understand what your body may be holding onto from an emotional/spiritual level which has helped me on my healing journey immensely.

What do I love about Rhonda’s adjustments?

I am not one to enjoy being manually adjusted. Never have, never will. The solution? Network chiropractic care with Rhonda πŸ™‚ ! Rhonda knows how to help ease pain and make adjustments without using force. I love her gentle yet direct and effective approach to chiropractic care, and her intuitive abilities. It makes the chiropractic experience more enjoyable and relaxing.

  1. Just wanted to express appreciation for talking about Rachel’s work, both her art and the classes. Have known her for 3-4 yrs and visit her gallery frequently. Have 4 pieces in my house as well. Have not attended her classes, but from the first conversation I had with her, it was obvious that she is a thoughtful, open person who listens and gives serious attention to the person with whom she is communicating. You used passion, infectious, fun, and energy all in one sentence, and they describe the person I know perfectly.
