A little history + purpose

I opened Terra Massage + Wellness in 2012 as a small private practice with a big desire to share my passion for health and healing with the Tucson community + beyond. I truly believe the connection between provider and client (human + human) is a potent relationship capable of igniting health + well-being.

How did I get here?

After completing a bachelor’s degree in exercise science + psychology (2006) and a master’s degree in art + visual culture education (2010), I didn’t have a clear understanding of what I wanted to do. I couldn’t find a job that I felt passionate about in the education sector, so I did what I do best. I went back to school to pursue a career as a bodyworker.

Why Massage?

In 2011, I started working in a clinical setting with women and men with eating disorders, addictions, and trauma and began helping people heal in a way I related to on a deep level. I was excited to have found a job I was passionate about and a group of co-workers that supported me to do my own inner work at the same time. It was during this time that I realized I wanted to study massage and share bodywork as a healing modality.

What else do you do?

In 2014 I became a certified Tre® provider and later, in 2015 I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program and began teaching yoga. Since 2006, I’ve held certification through ACSM as a personal trainer.

What’s new?

In April 2017, I transitioned my small massage business into a full-time practice!! I resigned from my position as massage + exercise therapist at a residential treatment center and took the plunge into self-employment.

In March 2018, I enrolled in a wellness coaching course that will help me launch a coaching business in conjunction with my massage practice.

In September 2018 I intend to embark on a 3-year journey to become an Organic Intelligence practitioner.
